Louis Buhler
recommended that the following article be posted on our web site
because it might help our internationally travelling members:
Bob Willbanks, Editor of NATIONAL SKI CLUB, NEWSLETTER
urges all ski clubs to inform its members, who are planning on
traveling abroad, to check their Passport. A determination has to be
made in ADVANCE if the passport has at least 90 DAYS left
before ARRIVING in the date of arrival in the last country they are
planning to visit.
Chances are, if less than 90 Days is left, the
traveler may be turned back to the US.
Not a good way to start a trip, I say!
I
researched this issue further and found, while Bob Willbanks is right,
there is more to it. The passport rules vary from country to country.
Some countries require that the passport expiration date is at least 3
months past your stay. Others require 6 months. Some only require that
your passport is valid for the duration of your stay.
Some
countries count this time from your arrival in that country and others
count it from your departure from that country.
My
advice is to check with the local Consulate of the country you are
visiting to make sure that your passport is meeting their expiration
requirements.

Rayhrer, your web master.
